I just love taking things that I used to love as a kid and turning them into baby shower invitations...like dinosaurs! Aren't these so cute?

So I've just recently stumbled upon a website called The League of Moveable Type and it's awesome! They feature hand-picked open source typography that you can download for free and donate if you wish. What makes them different than sites like www.dafont.com, is that they have very high standards for the fonts that they choose add to their online catalog. Their collection is small so far, but there are fonts on there that I just LOVE! Including these:

I can't wait to play around with these next time I'm designing invitations!

Hi I'm Shelby, a graphic artist who currently works from home. I do some freelancing here and there, along with designing wedding invitations and stock illustrations....and I have to say, designing wedding invitations and other stationery is by far my favorite part! It all started with my own wedding actually. I studied graphic design in college and always knew I'd love to someday design my own wedding invites. When the time came, I created so many styles that I had a hard time picking one! I loved the process of designing invitations so much that I didn't want to stop....and I've kept designing stationary ever since!

I'm currently selling my stationery designs at my online store Origami Prints.

But before I get in to all that.....here are some photos our our DIY Backyard wedding last October. It was a lot of work but definitely worth it and far more memorable and unique than your standard "hotel ballroom" kind of wedding. =P

Dollar Store photo frames and chalkboard paint. :)
We used small pebbles from the yard for keeping the escort cards from blowing away.
Rose Petal Aisle Runner
A family friend helped us build a beautiful gazebo for our ceremony.
The side of the house made for a gorgeous blue backdrop for our photos.

We strung string lights and paper lanterns across the yard for added light....They really polished off the look and feel that we wanted for our wedding!
And at night they were stunning!

Everyone loved the comfortable and cozy feel of having the wedding in the backyard. It was well worth the effort and by far the best day of my life!
